Janet started as an office manager in 2002. She learned about business operations and bookkeeping as the company she worked for grew from one million in sales to nine million. Early on, she began using QuickBooks. While other people were confused and even frustrated by the bookkeeping software, Janet found it to be intuitive and easy to use. When people found out that she was a natural at QuickBooks, they would come to her with their questions, which she answered with ease. As word of her skill spread, more and more people came to Janet for help.
Thanks to so many referrals, Janet founded Virtual Bookkeeping USA in 2008. Soon, Janet’s son, who worked in construction, learned QuickBooks so he could work for her in the winter. That got Janet thinking about hiring more people to best support her clients. Janet knew that her daughter-in-law was a hard worker and would be a natural addition to the growing company. She was right! Her daughter-in-law proved to be a valuable asset to the team. Soon, Janet hired a couple more part-time employees. Then in June of 2018, Janet’s husband Keith, a software support manager for 29 years left his corporate job and joined Janet. He began to take on a lot of the HR aspects of the business and to help ramp up the business to become more than just bookkeeping.
Over the years, the team at Virtual Bookkeeping USA has learned how to streamline the process of bookkeeping to serve our clients better. We are experts in QuickBooks and have access to many integrations that allow us to think outside of the box. This enables us to solve our clients’ problems quickly and creatively. We’re known for our outstanding bookkeeping, payroll, training, and consulting services for small businesses.
Often, small business owners are overwhelmed by the thought of organizing their financial information. They come to us for help and remain our clients after experiencing the freedom of having that weight lifted. Small business owners didn’t start their companies to organize financial records. Virtual Bookkeeping USA is there to carry the bookkeeping load with integrity and a sense of humor. For those clients who are interested in learning how to do their own bookkeeping, we provide comprehensive training. This allows our clients to run their businesses more efficiently, with confidence.
Although we work with small businesses in a variety of industries, craft breweries are one of our specialties. We understand the unique challenges of running a brewery, often involving managing multiple different business types in one: manufacturing, distributing, food and beverage, and merchandise.
Let us do what we do best– bookkeeping, so you can do what you do best– brewing great beer!
We believe that our business is meant to change the lives of our clients and change the world. When we:
We strive to continually give back generously to those less fortunate, both locally and around the world. We also volunteer over 1000 service hours every year. In 2018, Janet was awarded the Pacesetter Award by the Chamber of Commerce for her volunteer work.
As a member of B1G1, we are able to build this giving into the heart of our business, and we are always excited to share the ways our giving impacts us personally and globally.
